The fire ruby

This is my story that I am writing these are my first two chapters.

THE FIRE RUBY
Chapter one

It all happened on my seventh birthday.
I started seeing things nobody else could see.
Invisible to any eyes but mine.

Like a girl as big as your thumb, hovering in the air on transparent wings, or the golden ring around the fountain.

It finally made sense, when I got a note under my pillow.
It said, "Dear Callie! We are pleased to tell you, that you are a fairy. We need your help! Could you please report to the fountain immediately, Bye See you soon
Sincerely, Mike"

What was this?
I blinked, it was still there, not my imagination not any magician trick.
Well to the fountain I went.

When I was at the fountain I saw a gap in the golden ring.
That must be where I go in, I thought, so I walked over to it and jumped through.
I landed in a big circular room.

"Greetings young fairy!" a voice boomed.
I turned around to see a man in an elegant emerald green cloak, striding towards me.
"Hello!" I said nervously.
Everyone stopped and started whispering, "We need your help recovering the Fire Ruby!"
"The WHAT?" I said helplessly.
"You don’t know!" the man said, "well it goes like this..."

"One day a long time ago, there were four fairies.
Each created one magical object.
The Fire Ruby controlled fire, light and heat. The Blue Mirror controls water and ice. The Silver Rose controls nature and plants. Finally the Seashell controls animals.
The Shadow Fairies have been jealous ever since we got them..
If they get their hands on them, I can't imagine what they would do!
Now they have the Fire Ruby and before they figure out how to use it, we HAVE to get it back!" he said.

"Well, why does it have to be me!" I blurted out.
"Why don't you or someone more advanced than me! I don't even know how to use my powers!

"Because you, you were chosen. Chosen to be the one! The objects chose you. Now you must train for the dangerous journey!
At eight thirty meet here for your first training! I will get my servant to escort you home. Goodbye for now! I will see you tomorrow for your training!
He turned and walked away.

I walked home with a fairy called Jacob and went home tired after my long day.

CHAPTER TWO

Ring-a ring-a-ring went my alarm clock. Seven thirty.
I got up quietly and got dressed.
Then ate a peach and some cereal.
Eight twenty five, better go now. I ran to the fountain and jumped through the ring..

Mayor Mike with his obviously well filled tummy was standing in the middle of the room in front of three other kids.
“Welcome!” he said . Could you please introduce yourself.
Hi i’m Callie I said shyly.

“Now let's start at the beginning!” the Mayor boomed.
“First things first - learning to change into fairy form. Get out the mats chop chop!”

Once the mats were out we had to practice doing a flip and landing in the air.
“Think change!” Mike shouted and he demonstrated a perfect transformation into fairy form.
He was the size of a pill jar with transparent blue wings

Amy was the only one to have done the flip and was helping us to do the transformation. Soon afterwards, everyone had done the transformation but I got it only after about one million times it seemed.

Next we had to learn how to control our wings by flying through all sorts obstacles.
The hardest part of the obstacles I thought, were the feathers being thrown at us because there were so many of them. I couldn't see anything but big fluffy white puff puffs.
The easiest obstacle was the hoops in zigzag form because they were so big and easy. to get through.

My first training is over and I enjoyed it a lot. I can’t wait till my next one.
Sadly they are only on Saturday, once a week

It’s already lunch time, training flew by in an whiz. Probably because I enjoyed it so much.
