Wow! What amazing descriptive writing Maxine! I can picture the scene very clearly from your fantastic metaphors! A little bit funny Wairaka saying, "I want to be like a man!" but I guess that is the old fashioned ideas of the past that only men are strong and brave. Yes, men are usually stronger physically because how our bodies are built but both men and women can be powerful, clever and brave leaders!
