Venn diagram

For reading we have been reading about sandflies and ants so I made a venn diagram to compare them.

A lonely monkey huddled in a little ball on a cold tree stump. Her arm was getting tired from holding a large leaf above her head to shelter her from the rain. She spied a small spot of blue sat in a far corner of the sky.

Her stomach rumbled as she stared longingly at a large banana tree across the icy cold river.

Hundreds of bright yellow bananas hung on the tree a she stared at them as if they were diamonds. The river’s not too deep, she thought as she considered wading across.

Kia ora Mr Chris Quin,
Hi our names are Maxine and Amy were from Owairaka district school. We’re writing to you to talk about your plastic use in class. We have been reading that you are going to ban plastic bags but only by 2019.

Couldn't you do something to reduce plastic in the meantime? If you keep on using them till 2019 more plastic bags are going to be sold, that means more plastic bags which means more plastic in the sea, which means more sea creatures eating this plastic. But why are you not banning them NOW?

Pak'n'save have put a fine on single use plastic bags couldn't you do that to new world  or  raise the fine to twenty cents. Pak’n’save is doing quite well even though the plastic bags are 10 cents. Or you could do something like putting the recyclable bags where the plastic bags are. Or put things in cardboard boxes that you put the goods in.

I hope in addition you can also cut down wrappers as well. This is just an important as plastic bags because there is heaps of packs which is also another thing causing pollution.

Hopefully by reading this letter next time I go to the supermarket I won’t see plastic bags.

Yours sincerely

Maxine and Amy
